Bacterial expression system offers rapid, cheapest, and fastest method for recombinant protein production. This expression system is most suitable for the production of non-glycosylated proteins and proteins that are natively glycosylated but are also biologically active without glycosylation. E. coli has an established protocol and can accumulate foreign proteins up to 20% of the total cellular content.
