Tide Technology History

  • 1999
  • Development of the single-use TideCell® prototype and complementary products in ITRI Biomedical Technology  and Device Research Laboratories, Taiwan.
    TideCell® is the second single-use bioreactor developed in the world (after the 1998 Wave system). 

     

  • 2002
  • Patented the regions’ first single use bioprocessing bioreactor Tide Motion (2nd globally after wave in 1998) started providing PD services.

    Launched BioNOC macrocarrierBioNOC is the first macroporous carrier in the world that uses only one type of material.


  • 2004
  • Launched the single-use CelCradle system. CelCradle is the first high density single-use laboratory scale cell culture system.  One CelCradle bottle can replace up to  20 roller bottles.

    Launched the BioNOC™ II macrocarriers.

    Launched the GlucCell® glucose meter. GlucCell® is the first palm-sized portable glucose meter made specifically for cell culture process monitoring in the world


  • 2008
  • Launched and installed the single-use TideCell® 10L system in China vaccine company. It is used for hog cholera vaccine production.
    TideCell® is the first single-use high density cell culture system introduced in the Chinese market

  • 2009
  • Launched and installed single-use TideCell® 100L system in China vaccine company. It is used for rabies vaccine production.

  • 2010
  • Launched the TideCell® 20L system

  • 2011
  • Launched the TideCell® 2L system

  • 2012
  • Successfully installed TideCell® 100L system in India for rabies vaccine  production

  • 2013
  • Launched the TideCell® Cell Harvest System and AutoSwitch System.

    Successfully installed TideCell® 100L system in Japan for Hepatitis vaccine production.

    This is the first case that demonstrated the linear scale-up capability of the Tide motion system


  • 2015
  • Tide technology is continually being developed and is being marketed under the Esco Healthcare division VacciXcell



  • 2016
  • Launched VXLHybrid Bioreactor.


  • 2017
  • Launched the new and improved TideCell® in the US. The enhancements included addition of standard hypoxic condition, compressed air path with double HEPA and VOC filter, and germicidal UV-C decontamination. Another addition included the PLC-based monitoring and control system.



  • August 2019
  • Launched TideXcell™ bioreactor for cGMP compliant adherent cell culture scale up.


  • December 2019
  • CelCradle™ X, a single use, closed and automated bioreactor, was launched for small-scale process development and GMP-compliant clinical applications. 

     

  • December 2019
  • Launching of CelXrocker™, a proof of concept bioreactor for adherent cell culture, as a new addition to the Tide Motion bioreactor family


  • 2020
  • Launching of CelShaker™ a new addition to the cell harvesting application of the Tide Motion technology. CelShaker™ is an automated cell harvester for the CelCradle™ system.
